“Starting so young, I’m going to get, ‘You’ve grown up so much’ until I’m heavily pregnant with a child. Yes. That is what happens. When I was younger, I used to get that all the time. ‘Do you have friends?’ reporters would ask me. So inappropriate. What are you looking for?” Dakota shared to USA Today.

Dear god, all these young actors have issues. Like 1st world problems. Big deal that she was asked questions that were “inappropriate”. Where were her parents or manager..nearby no doubt as a child actor can’t be alone. There are kids right now at that age she whines about, right now they’ve seen their families slaughters or worse. Hollywood 20 somethings live in an insulated bubble or clearly never read current events if they can’t see how good they had or have had it.

Yeah, because not talking about things out in the open always served well to those who were being subjected to inappropriate behaving and doesn’t matter whether famous or not.

Because of the fact that all of those things are not being talked about (sexism, rape – both sexes, bullying – both sexes, body shaming – both sexes and yes even inappropriate questions), people often don’t even realize that it’s happening.

And what do you know, whether her parents were there or not, that would still not stop the reporter from asking the question.

Plus she is famous, she has a public voice, not many people have that. So why not to point out to such things that hasn’t surely happened just to her and brought it to public attention, when she can. No one would hear me or you.

Don’t think of it as whining, but rather as raising awareness.

Yeah, like that DC mansion family slaughter. Awful.

Dakota Fanning “gets it” more than some of the readers here. When she was asked if she had friends and her response was “What are you looking for?” the real meaning was that she knew that the reporter was trying to see if she was an “active” young woman or was she “available.”

This also means to me that she is a much more astute young woman than she would seem to be if lumped into the hugely varied mix of those child/young actors and actresses that make up Hollyweird.

Hollywood and the entertainment business has been inappropriate since day 1. She didn’t say she was raped. She said she was asked inappropriate questions. Which bears to mind WHERE are the parents guardian to her as a child. As a child as you can’t be interviewed or on set without adult supervision. so her guardian was there and ok with the questions. Why were they ok because the parents know the bigger picture is she’s famous. And she will enjoy the payoff of fame.

She said she was asked the question(s), that’s it. So it could go like that. He asked the question, her mother/father/supervision/herself said no She’s not answering that. Moving on. Still won’t change the fact that she was asked that in the first place.

But hey, what do I know.

Plus I wouldn’t really go screaming bad parenting when it comes to the Fanning sisters. Both seem turned out to be modest, well mannered and accomplished young women.

One would’t have to think too hard to name a teen celebrity whose parents done a super bad job *certain “singer” from Canada*
