“If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life,’” she told the mag.

Bwhahahahhaahahahahah. Nice photoshop guys/girls/whatever work. Why did they need Annie Leibovitz if they were going to do that?

Who made you judge and jury for another individual’s existence? OH that’s right NO One, you’re just a transphobic hater.

  • Mrs. XOXO

Pretty…but now she looks like all of the other plastic surgery women out there. It’s so weird that plastic surgery makes faces look like the same person. Not surprised though…considering everyone she lived with has had some type of plastic surgery. Poor thing.

Sad day when this mess and his league of tramps dominate the news. Shame on the major so-called news outlets for giving this attention.

  • Micca Theobald

Im still trying to decide if I like it, I think he achieved a good balance between looking too fake, I watched his man photos I still find it weird

  • Toni

Although I’m happy for him/her, I don’t think it’s fair to call yourself a woman unless you’ve experienced your cycle, cramps, tender boobs, groping and touching from pervs, sex discrimination, pms, and childbirth. Then come back and tell me how much you love being a woman!

  • Maru Niemi

Although the first two require ovaries – the hormonal treatments grows you a pair of actual boobs, the same goes in Caitlyn’s case. Groping, sexual harassment and discrimination isn’t something experienced solely by women – and being a celebrity who’s had sexual reassignment surgery, she’ll most probably experience a quite a handful of unfair behavior from conservative and hateful people. And although pms happens regularly at the same time each month for women, hormonal changes causing an emotional roller-coaster happens to guys as well – they’re just not as spoken of – plus, the hormonal treatments used during transitioning cause mood swings similar to those experienced by young teenagers. It’s kinda like a second puberty.. fun, right?

Finally, not every woman chooses to experience child-birth, and some aren’t even physically able to. I’m pretty sure you meant no harm with your comment, but I don’t think it’s fair to tell someone they’re not allowed to see or refer to themselves as a woman – especially seeing as transgenders often go through hell mentally by living bound to a body that doesn’t mirror their mind, personality and sexuality.

  • SusanJ

He obviously hasn’t had that surgery yet and wonder when he will have the package eliminated.

  • SusanJ

    I’m thinking Jessica Lange

  • Irene

No woman is less of a woman for not having children, and no woman is more of a woman for having them. And what about those women who have their breasts and/or ovaries removed (often because of an illness)? They’re no less of a woman either.
If you feel like a woman, you’re a woman, if you feel like a guy, you’re a guy.

And the “groping and touching from pervs, sex discrimination” is just stupid, you don’t have to be a woman to experience those.

  • bet

she looks Good! i thought she was going to be ugly and rusty!. i’m surprised how this turned out.

  • Cheyenne

Do you think you’re less of woman after you go through menopause? I’ve been there and I feel more feminine than ever, without having to go through a big bloody mess every month.

  • Cheyenne

A lot of people are seeing a resemblance between Caitlin Jenner and Jessica Lange.

  • Cheyenne

ROFL that’s for sure. She makes Kris look like a bag lady.

  • saad rock

    Am a Gaga’s Fan & i supported Caitlyn and i mean Queen <3 ' as Goerges , beautiful , slay Queen '

  • Joe Graham

Toni, with the hormones she is now taking she’s going through a second puberty, including acne and tender boobs, she’ll probably even some spotting on her bra. She’ll have hot flashes, and she’s going to have to beware of osteoporosis. As the hormones work on her brain she will experience severe mood swings for a while.

Source? A dear intersex (ambiguous genitalia) friend of mine has gone through the transition, only from female to male. I have supported him through the whole change. HE is the most dudely dude I know, by the way. :)

Anyways, Caitlyn is hormonally and physically (not genetically) a post-menopausal woman, with all of the trappings thereof.

She’ll get to experience all the perv stuff too no doubt. :/

Think about it this way. You describe the female experience as a chore or a curse. This person CHOSE that experience, as much as she could. She is asking for what you have described.

She didn’t come to this decision on her own. She will have undergone several years of intensive therapy and screening to allow her to arrive at the point where she can make a fully-informed decision. No doubt she has a support network of other trans* friends guiding her. The mental anguish my friend has gone through, simply to make his outsides match his insides, has been terrible.

She’ll miss out on some of the things you talked about (which, not coincidentally, is why I am grateful to have a penis and a Y chromosome myself instead of a vagina and an X.) Still, she’s choosing for a lot more than just the physical aspects of her gender.

Imagine if we had to decide what our gender would be, and then defend it? Our loved ones would question us. Our friends would question us. Now add on the title of “world’s greatest athlete”, which Caitlyn wore as Bruce through the 1970′s and 1980′s.

Suddenly you’re defending your decision to every talk show host, every commentator, and pretty much any stranger who thinks their opinion actually matters to your life decision.

I think she would have probably chosen a cycle and all the trappings thereof. Peace. :)

  • PalmdalePatty

You are sweet to clarify, thank you!

  • SusanJ

    photoshopping helps

  • Joe Graham

Your reply is succinct and beautiful. You have either experienced someone else’s transition or you have astonishing empathy. :) Thank you. :)

  • Lokita

What a fucking joke. Performing femininity and wearing dresses, makeup and heels does not make you the opposite sex. Once you have a Y chromosome you are male. Women are NOT innately feminine, there is no possible way to feel or identify as a woman, a woman is simply an adult human female, females have the absence of a Y chromosome. Womanhood is not fucking femininity. If those were actual pictures of women his age then we would be critiquing the fuck out of it, but because its a delusional man who professes to be a woman everyone fawns over him. Males do not define what womanhood is, no male is simply a woman because they say they are. There is not one thing more to being a woman than to having female primary and secondary sex characteristics. There is no such thing as a female brain, that argument has been debunked and any science otherwise is literally just pseudoscience. He is a gender non-conforming male and thats fine, he can wear what the hell he wants and look cool, but you can’t identify your way into the opposite sex lmao, thats like people going around saying they are donkeys because they feel like one and identify as one, therefore we must refer to them as donk…. He may receive discrimination for being gender (socially constructed) non-conforming and thats wrong but he has never and never will experience sex-based oppression like females do due to their sex and socialisation.

  • SorayaVonDerAlm

    I totally agree with you!!!!!

  • Lokita

Thankyou… nice to come across a critical thinker in 2015 for once and not someone part of the masses that are recently jumping on this whole gender identify bandwagon in fear of being called closed minded &transphobic (I used to be one of those people for years until I realised nothing trans activists said made any rational sense, it was all very circular logic):

Trans activists: Trans women are women because they say they’re women.
Me: Well what is a woman?
Trans activists: Anyone who feels like a woman is a woman.
    Me: But define woman.
Trans activists: A woman is anyone who identifies with womanhood.
    Me: But what is womanhood?
Trans activists: Womanhood is the experience of being a woman.
Me: But what is a woman?
Trans activists: Anyone who identifies with womanhood is a woman
Me: What do trans women identify with in terms of womanhood?
    Trans activists: Being a woman.
    Trans activists: …
Trans activists: Anyone who identifies with womanhood..

    They make no fucking sense.

You are trans if you are dysphoric but most transgender people are not dysphoric.

Like you literally can’t identify your way into a social construct (femininity) and then shout from the roof-tops that its a biological reality and that you’re oppressed for this so-called biological reality when really, what you are being discriminated against is for not conforming to the rigid societal/gender roles forced upon you from birth. Its fantastic to not conform to these gender roles, I applaud anybody that does, but that doesn’t make you the opposite sex lmao, you literally cannot change your sex. People need to understand that gender varies from culture to culture and has over thousands of years, sex never has, there is a difference between the two,

  • Jess

So now that Bruce Jenner is “dead” – does that mean he no longer faces manslaughter charges?

  • Tallis

What an amazing reply! Clarifying and educational without being agressive. The internet should learn from you.

  • Brutally honest

I am sorry, but as much as I can applaud the change she is making to make herself happy, this is another sign of fame-whoreing galore. How many transgenders out there have had her chances? Apart from the fact that she has been photoshopped into oblivion to look like Jessica Lange (who is a total class act), there is also the fact that did she need to be on the cover of a fashion magazine?
This is modern version of the Victorian freak show.
And no, I am not saying that she is a freak show, but the public will consume this with the same prurient curiosity that was reserved to the Victorian “oddities”, and it is awful.

  • Ana Esteves

So sad to see the amount of haters around that understand very little or nothing about transgender issues.
Anyway, I wish Caitlyn a strong, healthy and beautiful transition!

  • Sparrow

All good questions. What is womanhood? Another good question: Why do *you* get to decide? You speak about critical thinking and yet you have essentially created your own circular logic in order to defend your views. If Caitlyn was harming anyone it would make far more “logical” sense for you to critique her decision. However underneath your cool commentary I sense a disgust and contempt and that is sad to see. I wonder if you see it?

  • Lokita

LOL the definitions woman and female were already decided thousands of years ago, better we let men in dresses and heels in 2015 decide for us huh? WOMEN get to decide what womanhood is, not males. You can fuck right off mate. Being female is a biological reality, how the fuck do you think humans reproduce? Being female is not a state of mind or an ‘identity’. Women for centuries have been oppressed on the basis of their SEX and their reproductive organs, not because they wore make up and identified their way into womanhood and femininity. You CANNOT answer what womanhood is without resorting to sexist stereotypes can you? A woman is not anybody who identifies as a woman or else the word wouldn’t even bloody mean anything. Words have meanings dumbass. You sense disgust and contempt lol? Maybe I should have been more explicit huh? I am disgusted that men think they can co-opt womanhood and tell women what they are and what they aren’t and police their behaviour, opinion and language, like they have been doing for many years before I was even born, tell me i’m the devil I don’t give a shit, nothing new, society hating a woman and deepening that hatred once a woman has an opinion and does not bow down to men. You gave no logical or scientifically backed up throughly explained answer as to why I was wrong, just shock factor and insults- yawn. Everything you could possibly dream up to say i’ve seen refuted and debunked 1000 times by those that actually have a clue so good day to you, don’t talk to me, we disagree, I will NEVER change my opinion on this matter. A man does not get to tell me what to do or who I am and who I should accept as my own under the guise as being seen as progressive and open minded when all it really is, is new-age misogyny. This all embracing gender identify shit is harmful to women, it erases our sex based oppression and perpetuates the gender stereotypes we have been fighting to abolish for years, the idea that we are inherently emotional, nurturing, caring, feminine, girly and like make-up and pink. You are so fucking transparent and I see right through you.
