Serena Williams Wins 20th Grand Slam at French Open 2015
Serena Williams holds up the Coupe Suzanne Lenglen trophy after winning the Women’s Singles Final at the 2015 French Open at Roland Garros on Saturday (Saturday 6) in Paris France.
The 33-year-old tennis player had to overcome the flu to beat Lucie Safarova of Czech Repbulic in three sets – 6-3, 6-7 (2-7), 6-2.
With the win, Serena is only two Grand Slam wins away from tying Steffi Graf for the most Grand Slams ever in the women’s game.
“I think [Serena] is living in an exciting time. Honestly, I think she can get there and then do much better because she has the talent and the opportunities. I really won’t worry if Serena beats my record or not, I have never been interested in numbers. I gave everything in my career. It’s not a problem if she does better than me — it won’t keep me from sleeping,” Steffi shared.
