Clint Eastwood Mocks Caitlyn Jenner During Guys Choice Awards, Joke Will Be Cut From Broadcast

Clint Eastwood is in hot water for some statements he made concerning Caitlyn Jenner during the taping of Spike TV’s 2015 Guys Choice Awards.

The 85-year-old director was introducing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on stage when he referenced other athletes who had made their way into Hollywood including “Jim Brown and Caitlyn somebody…”

A rep from Spike TV told Us Weekly that the insensitive moment would be cut from the June 18 broadcast. “We will remove the reference in the version that will air,” a rep said.

Democracy? Freedom of speech? Sad jokes in Jewmerica….

  • j b

The dementia ridden fool is the same guy that was talking to invisible Obama in a empty chair. People should just laugh at everything this old man says.

  • buttercream

It’s called FREEDOM OF SPEECH and it goes both ways.

  • studded_blunt

at least he wasn’t talking to a chair. REPUBLICANS FTW 2016!!!!!!!

  • studded_blunt

the bible clutchers have come out already? I thought you guys would be in church.

  • studded_blunt

yes, he was free to say it – and he did. it’s Spike’s show, so they are free to edit out and put in whatever they want. #murica

  • FrenchGirl

He didn’t make a joke on Caitlyn but on the fact that she is a Jenner/Trashdashian

  • FrenchGirl

It was a joke .An idiot joke but a joke

  • Sandy McFarlane

lmao its always the biggest assholes who use the term “freedom of speech” for getting away with their ignorance. #trybetter

  • Alotta Phun

Oldwood wouldn’t have said this if it was a female transitioning to a male. Fuck Oldwood.

  • Jean Morel

How overly sensitive can people get? It’s not offensive in the slightest!

  • deadre

right dementia ridden fool, yup, after his last film, that’s what he is……

  • powermidget

What is ignorant is a man mutilating his body like Jenner. A freak is what he is, he is not a women and those of us who are find it insulting to refer to him as one.

  • powermidget

There is nothing senile about Clint Eastwood. And in fact considering he is still making great movies such as American Sniper, you are the one who sounds senile.

  • Maggie P.U 🐺

No it isn’t…And when Bruce did all what he did he should have known there would be negative responses as well as positive.

  • Maggie P.U 🐺

If he/she did not want any negative responses then he/she shuold not have stepped out. You can not take the good without the bad and visa versa. It is ok for him/her to say and do whatever….then Mr. Eastwood and all others should be allowed to do the same. I am not a fan of the K Klan…but Kim had a valid point…if this was/is what he/she wanted…why get married and or have kids? The priority apparently was the sex change. And I don’t care if he/she has money to back her/him up…he/she looks like a man in women’s clothing and makeup…. What is the big deal? And as for ESPN awarding him/her the Hero award….pleeeeeezzzz…..there are true heroes that are more deserving. Starting with America’s Veterans.

    Peace.

  • aries

OMG he didn’t even say anything offensive. It seems we can’t have anymore different opinions anymore it seems. F–k Political Correctness.

  • Heidi

I agree it’s a joke I’m so sick of this Jenner crap day and night and such double standards , they can make crude jokes about blacks, whites ,Jews , Mexicans and so on but a harmless joke has to be cut out, is Caitlyn that sensitive now that Bruce is gone lol, I mean after the he’s whipped pony and all the other vile jokes he got while living with the kartrashians you’d think he’d have thick skin .

  • aries

Atleast a Republican POTUS would never mingle with the likes of the Kraptashians/Jenners like Obama did.

  • Heidi

I’d rather take him talking to a chair than the worst lier president we have ever had and that’s bad since I thought no one can be worse than Busch , boy was I wrong !!!!

  • Heidi

He’s all about hollywood and talk shows knows nothing about what this country needs or our troops , can’t wait till the idiot leaves .

  • Douglas from Brazil

Caitly somebody…so he didn’t know the last name and…?People need to get over.I think he’s getting negatives responses just because he’s a republican and mocked Obama 3 years ago talking to a empty chair during pre-election in 2012.

  • Douglas from Brazil

So if I’m not allowed to say anything where the freedom of speech stands?

  • happy1ga

Clint Eastwood repeated the joke they wrote for him, (surprise, folks, all that patter at awards is scripted), and it fell flat, yet he’s being blamed? That’s as ignorant as the whole Fashion Police Guiliana Rancic & Zendaya mess. Everyone involved, including Zendaya knew that was scripted, yet everyone had to act like they were all just naturally riffing. Lololol. No, not how it works. Besides, Clint & Bruce, (not sure about post Bruce), have been golfing & socializing buddies for years. Quit getting overly sensitive about minutiae involving people you don’t know, especially when it comes from a peer of the person you’re attempting outrage on their behalf. They don’t need it.

  • Esoteric11

Oh yeah, Bush just did cocaine, and his military experience is fake, pushed through by his daddy. Reagan himself said he was the elders Bush’s idiot son. And worse of all , invading a country that was not proven at all to have WMD, wasting tax payers money more than any president. Killing, thousands of people. Thousands. Leaving our military overworked. Families without parents. Google all the stupid things he’s said. The man is an idiot. His damage is not over yet.

  • Awww

Freedom of Speech refers to persecution from the government. It means the government can’t throw you in jail or kill you for what you say. A private broadcast owned by a private company can do as it pleases. If it wants to cut a joke from it’s show a private company is allowed to.

  • Marianna Graham

The bottom line is Clint Eastwood is AN OLD MAN. He’s been in the Business for 100 years. He’s maybe seen it all back in the day but he’s not interested in today or anything current. He talked to a chair and he’s a Republican. I think I summed it up

  • AJ

He didn’t even say anything offensive!! Society is getting worse and worse….a bunch of wimps!

  • Kaitlyn

Decades ago these two were the mightiest men of their respective fields.

Decades later one of these men is making films about courageous people and deeply impacting the lives of those who watch them. While the other one is called “courageous” for buying an operation and turning a social issue into something all about him.

Its just sad that in todays world kids will see Clint Eastwood as the bad guy and Caitlyn Somebody as the hero.

It doesn’t matter what his personal opinion of, “Caitlyn What’s Her Namee stupidest thing about Clint Eatwood’s, “joke”, was that he said it at an awards banquet that would be broadcast worldwide. His perspective must be incredibly narrow if he thought he could get away with that and not get backlash from the public, as well as Spike TV, which will edit out his comment. I guarantee that Clint was not donating his services for his appearance at the, “Guy’s Choice Awards”, he was getting paid big bucks. Now, he may think he can say any thing, any time, any place he wants, which he can, but let’s see how quickly another organization hires him as a speaker, presenter, commentator etc. He’s not taking these gigs just to be a nice guy, he is taking them because they are part of his ongoing income, which he jeopardized with his arrogance.

  • Maggie

I am not a fan of Mr Eastwood’s politics and he has reached that grumpy old man stage where his views tend to be out of sync with the (vocal) majority (?), but he is entitled to those political views and I look forward to embracing a cantankerous old age, so I am not going to complain about that. He is a man whose work I have enjoyed over the years and I have a huge respect for him as an artist. Caitlyn Jenner, as a former Olympian, will always deserve respect and good for her that she has made those changes in her life. BUT, that is balanced by my total contempt for all those involved in that awful TV program, my annoyance about the degree to which Ms Jenner’s choices are being rammed down our throats by the media and the fact that anyone who has any reservations is being demonized. Stop telling us what to think and feel and stop trying to make everyone sing from the same PC hymn sheet. Rant over.

  • Maggie

P.S. I have zero problem with any of the choices (excluding that TV program) she has made, it is the principle, not the specifics that irritate me.

  • Cynjok

  • Cynjok

Bush once went to a party at Hunter S. Thompson’s house. But I’m not going to hold that against Hunter, may he rest in peace.

  • Awww

Douglas, Freedom of Speech refers to the government punishing someone with jail or death over what they say. That’s not allowed. If a private company wants to edit a joke out of a show they’re broadcasting they are allowed to. He’s not being punished by the government for making the joke so the Freedom of Speech argument doesn’t apply in this case.

  • Sandy McFarlane

but PLEASE explain to me how Jenners transition concerns you or your daily life in any way.

  • aries

Thompson was atleast a journalist, he had a job and a reason for fame. The Kardashians/Jenners aren’t famous for anything other then Kim’s sex tape or do any of them have jobs except for Bruce, who is now seen as a mockery because of his stepdaughters and real daughters. Obama hangs around C listers and Dlisters like them. Really, the POTUS has time to meet with a women who did a sex tape for fame? Get outta here!

  • aries

Obama did marijuana and he himself encourages our youth to try drugs. I don’t think a POTUS should be saying things like that. Bush was an idiot but he never stooped as low as Obama did for approval. Obama now as an approval rating lower then even Bush’s. I don’t recall Bush telling young people to go and try drugs. Thats an extreamly irresponsible thing to say. What does that say about how most americans opinion on him?

  • aries

Exactly. I mean, really he has time to comment on the Karadshians and meet with them too? Pathetic.

  • powermidget

Gladly. First of all the taxpayers, of which I am one, are already on the hook for a guy in prison getting a sex change. Legitimzing this will only end up forcing others to pay for what is clearly a choice, and a non-essential surgery. It is obvious that transgender people have mental problems, since other than mutilating their bodies through surgery, they are still whatever sex they were born. DNA doesn’t lie. Also, as a women I find it offensive and revolting that a man who has had surgery thinks he is a women, I am a women he is not.

  • Esoteric11

Oh Boy, Blame Obama game. Yes, I totally agree with you that Obama encourages youth to do drugs. That makes so much sense. This world will only improve if people progress.

  • Esoteric11

It’s not about approval ratings. It’s about humanity. Do you have any?
