Cara Delevingne Says Superhero Movies Are 'Sexist'

Cara Delevingne wears comfy sweatpants while heading into Heathrow Airport on Monday morning (June 29) in London, England.

The 22-year-old Paper Towns actress reportedly missed her flight and went back home for a couple hours until her rescheduled flight. The day before, she was seen checking out the music at the Glastonbury Festival.

Cara recently chatted with Empire magazine and gave her thoughts on women in superhero movies.

“There are only three girls in [Suicide Squad] but in my opinion they have the best roles,” Cara said (via THR). “Generally though, superhero movies are totally sexist. Female superheroes are normally naked or in bikinis. No one would be able to fight like that. Wonder Woman, how the hell does she fight? She would be dead in a minute.”

FYI: Cara is using a RIMOWA suitcase and Native Youth sweat pants. She is wearing J Brand jeans at the festival.

Sexist is hire a non-talented model instead of a real actress.

Agree with her on that ““Generally though, superhero movies are totally sexist. Female superheroes are normally naked or in bikinis.” but I think it’s more publicity stunt, probably her agent suggested to say this because Feminism is actual today.

  • Boris

Her job is sexist too and she’s still a model!

  • Jonathan Chavez

But more importantly, nobody cares what a pouty tween model says about anything. She should take up more important causes.

You PILLOCK, you are so JEALOUS, Cara has a great life, you NOT

  • LiiL

What about the Thor movies? Jaimie Alexander wears a total fine woman armour and she’s fighting like a man. Or what about the Black Canary? Cara next time, please make a research, before you share your great opinion. (anyway Wonder Woman sucks )

  • NEO

    These are just exceptions :P

  • LiiL

Sorry for that, my bad. Scarlett Witch, Storm, Jean Grey (I can count the whole X-men series ’cause they wear overalls, especially ROUGE who has to cover her whole body) the nice thing is that almost only the DC characters wear nothing but a bikini, like Supergirl, Batgirl, Wonder Woman. Marvel gives the freedom for its characters and female superheroes do not need to be in lingerie just to pay attention.

  • NEO

Enumerating just few exceptions does nothing in comparison to thousands :P but it’s great that hollywood changes and action movies become less sexist, for example Mad Max, which has it’s flaws but I think it’s a giant step in representation of women :P

  • sheigh

    Gosh she’s got a brain !

  • TEX

thousands?? please name the thousands you speak of.

anyway I just tried to refer to the mistake she made, because she spoke “in general” but it won’t be true just because she only knows the bikini-superheroes.

Said Cara D., the oracle of truth, uneducated wannabe actress who would be nowhere near as popular had it not been for her father’s money and connections.
