Paula Deen Shares Photo of Her Son in Brownface

Paula Deen just posted a photo on her Twitter account of her son Bobby in complete brownface.

The Internet went off on the 68-year-old celebrity chef, who was dressed as Lucy from I Love Lucy. The tweet was posted earlier today, but has since been deleted. You can see a screenshot of the tweet and image below.

“How long before Trump adds Paula Deen to the Presidential ticket?” one Twitter user wrote in response to the insensitive photo.

This is not the first time Paula has been under fire for racial insensitivity. She previously admitted to using the “n” word and her derogatory language cost her many business relationships.

Paula Deens a Fox! I wanna shoot my load all over her face!

  • Martha Bartha

Yes it is! She’s a racist! She admitted to using the word Nigger!

As a makeup artist I’m going to play devil’s advocate… I truly believe that people should consider intent when speaking about individuals in black/brown face. I understand the history and the racism behind blackface. What I also understand is if this individual was next to a Lucy character without any makeup on we would never know he was representing Desi Arnaz. What if you love a certain singer like Rihanna who isn’t that dark skinned but went two shades darker in foundation on halloween? You aren’t mocking a race, you’re making your character more obvious. I don’t know, to me this isn’t offensive it’s done with *good intent*. SNL does stuff like this all the times and they don’t get in trouble for it.

She has done racist things before. This is not one of those things.

  • Martha Bartha

    OK, thank you.

They dressed up to represent characters. This is not racist in the least. She has tried to apologize for the past. Get over it. And really. She’s from the south. Does it really surprise anyone that she’s used the n word? Most people have had a racist moment that they are not proud of. Anyone who says they haven’t is lying.

    He’s imitating Ricky (Desi Arnaz), who’s Cuban……so it’s ok…I suppose

So has obama. Sharpton (who is also a homophobe)and many others. Get a frigging grip not everything is about race.

  • Martha Bartha

    Well, maybe it should be!

Here we go again, you’d think she would have learned after the last fiasco to keep her mouth shut and pics off the internet that are going to offend.

It’s possible to dress up as someone without changing your skin color. He had time to coat his face in brown makeup, but couldn’t invest in a wig to match Desi’s hair? That’s lazy. It’s racist. It’s offensive. They’re gross.

  • j k

    Is she stupid?
