Subway Releases Statement After Spokesman Jared Fogle's House Raided in Child Pornography Case

Jared Fogle, best known for being Jared from Subway, had his house raided earlier this morning (July 7) in connection with a child pornography investigation.

“Jared has been cooperating, and continues to cooperate, with law enforcement in their investigation of unspecified charges, and looks forward to its conclusion,” the 37-year-old spokesperson’s lawyer Ron Elberger said in the statement.

Meanwhile, Subway released a statement about the situation. “We are shocked about the news and believe it is related to a prior investigation of a former Jared Foundation employee. We are very concerned and will be monitoring the situation closely,” the statement read (via ABC News). The former employee referred to in the quote is Russell Taylor, who was arrested for child pornography back in May.

Subway is desperately trying to do damage control and trying to distance themselves from this pedophile monster.

I am not saying Jared’s guilty of anything, but don’t you find it surprising how they tapered off from having Jared (who was exclusively in EVERY Subway commercial) do the shots to use popular athletes and have Jared make more of a cameo? IMO, Subway may have know there was something suspect going on and began to distance itself a while ago. Question is…what do they know?

Link – no company is loyal to a name, person or mascot anymore. If that person becomes too popular, they demand more money. Anything is possible, but I’m 99% sure that is what tapering off was about. Why would they set themselves up for legal liability?

Once again…not saying Jared’s guilty of anything, but no one can deny Subway’s “metaphorical” backing away from him. That could have simply been their way of saying, “Hey, we don’t know what’s going on here. So, we’ll full-fill the remaining obligations of your contract by giving you spot cameos here and there. Once that’s done…we’re done.” Remember, Jared was just a college freshman who could only afford to eat Subway everyday and happened to lose some serious weight. He came very cheap!
