Emma Stone Describes Woody Allen's Unique Way of Working

Emma Stone hits the red carpet at the premiere of her new movie Irrational Man on Thursday night (July 9) in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old actress was joined by her co-stars Joaquin Phoenix and Parker Posey, as well as Adrien Brody (with girlfriend Lara Lieto) and Chris Kattan.

Emma opened up to Variety that night about director Woody Allen‘s unique way of making movies.

“You don’t have rehearsals, you don’t have a cast read-through, you know on the first day you’re shot out of a cannon,” Emma said. “I think he sees the tone in his head and he finds it as it goes, so he’s the only director I’ve ever worked with who reshoots as he’s shooting. So you’ll show up and he’ll say we need to reshoot the scene from yesterday. We’re lucky because Parker and I have both done a fair amount of improv, so that live-wire environment is exciting to me.”

FYI: Emma is wearing a Giambattista Valli dress, Paul Andrew shoes, a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch, Jennifer Meyer earrings, and Jennifer Fisher rings. Lara is wearing a Dsquared2 dress. The screening and party were sponsored by Svedka Vodka.

Yes, so exciting to work with a child molester. Surely you don’t need to star in Woody Allen movies in this day and age to further your artist cred anymore right? There are plenty of dynamic writers and directors to work with, and she was at her height before any Allen films-why does she continue to work with and defend this deviant?

Actually everyone has his own comfort level so it’s better to act him according to this.

This wasn’t an article about the alleged molestation charges. It was an article about a film premiere. There’s a line between a person’s work and who they are as a person. Al Capone opened soup kitchens, gave back to the community, and helped quite a lot of people who were homeless, but was also a mobster. His work has nothing to do with his personal life. He’s not molesting children on set and the actors who work with him do so, typically, because it’s a fantastic script or the opportunity to work with the cast and aren’t subjected to his personal life or him molesting children on set. Working with someone doesn’t automatically mean they defend allegations made against him. There’s a massive difference.

I think supporting a criminal helps them walk free. His work is not good enough to overshadow what he did-is anybody’s? This attitude is what keeps Hollywood flocking to defend him and keep him with enough money to make films. The man should have been in jail.

And you know he’s a child molester how? Were you there? Did he confess to you? Stick to reading facts before making judgements—-
