Ruby Rose Began Saving for Gender Reassignment Surgery at Age Five
Ruby Rose generously stops to give money to a homeless man while shopping on Thursday (July 9) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The 29-year-old Orange is the New Black star recently told Access Hollywood that as a child, she had her mind set on gender reassignment surgery.
“I had this jar where I would pledge dollars…towards this surgery that I didn’t know a lot about…I started saving, probably from the age of five,” she explained.
But by 15, she realized that she didn’t want to transition. She started changing the way she dressed and acted to reflect her true self. “I just wanted to be more comfortable in my own skin.”
It certainly seems like Ruby has grown to embrace who she is!
