Amber Heard Charged with Smuggling Dogs Into Australia

Amber Heard has been charged with illegally smuggling her and Johnny Depp‘s two dogs, Pistol and Boo, into Australia.

The 29-year-old Magic Mike XXL star was summoned to an Australian court on Wednesday (July 15) on two counts of illegally importing the Yorkshire Terrier dogs and one count of producing an unspecified false document, Us Weekly reports.

These charges can ultimately lead to 10 years in prison and a fine of $75,000.

Back in May, the Australian government demanded that Johnny and Amber remove their dogs from Australia because they had allegedly not followed proper quarantine laws.

I think the comments she made regarding the issue might have pissed off some people in Australia, like the agriculture minister Barnaby Joyce, and that’s why this is happening now. Wtf?

Good. Celebrities needs to know that they are not above the law. They can’t do whatever they please and not suffer any consequences. Respect the laws of another nation, instead of continuously mocking and ignoring them.

    Can’t stand her efin attitude

Lol, that’s what you get for your big mouth! She thought just because she’s Depp’s wife…she thought ×D

Alina, it’s not because she pissed off anyone in Australia, it’s simply the fact that what she did was illegal. Australia has been rabies (and other diseases) free on land dwelling animals for many years, and being a large agricultural country (recognised, and in demand internationally for it’s clean and healthy produce) we can not afford to let pests and diseases back into the country.

But…but…but she’s a famous actress who only takes important, artistic roles. Oh, wait…she’s in Magic Mike. What other artistic “real actress” roles has she done? I’m too lazy to google.

  • Uhhhhh

This is so lame…I think she should pay a fine IF the dogs had any diseases, but I am certain they do not. Seriously – LAME.

Good. they ignored the law and she was a little witch about it, mouthing off and being a pain. good. its about time a celebrity actually faced consequences. such an ego on this one. for no reason. seriously, what has she ever done except screw Jonny Depp?

She’s actually quite awful, and her comments on this highlight that.

But what about Johhny? They both deserve to be charged. Not only her.

Remember, Australia is unmatched in regards to disasters they have had to deal with due to the misguided importing of various breeds of floras and faunas. It is understandable that they might be sensitive to things like smuggling pets.

Biosecurity is a huge issue for Aussies as they have a huge livestock and farming industry. Amber showed her lack of sophistication in assuming that a politician was after his 15-minutes fame in mouthing off and warning them. How dumb can you be? Just because you are fame-hungry doesn’t mean someone else is.

That’s so ignorant to go on TV and say that. Lying on a custom’s declaration is a HUGE thing. She’s the one charged probably because she’s the one who signed it.

It’s strange because Johnny Depp did a round of PR (shaking hands and sign autography with locals) after the dog story broke out. Then Amber went on Aussie TV and accused the politician of being hungry, just as she was before she hooked up with Depp (now she has more attention than she can handle, obviously). If Depp’s handlers were that worried, why wasn’t Heard more careful? What was she trying to achieve with the strange interview?

The legal commentators think she’ll probably end up with just a fine, but she’ll probably have to attend court in person. If she does end up with a jail term, remember there’s an extradition treaty between the US and Australia. Good luck, Amber, you’ll need it for this AND the tsunami of bad PR your ignorance about something as basic as customs laws has brought you.

They are her dogs, not his you moron. He doesn’t deserve to be charged for something he didn’t do.
