'Ant-Man' Tops Box Office With $58 Million, 'Trainwreck' Debuts Strong With $30.2 Million
Marvel’s Ant-Man has officially won this weekend’s box office with $58 million grossed!
According to THR, the superhero flick starring Paul Rudd, also earned $56.4 million overseas for a global haul of $114.4 million.
Coming in second was the animated flick Minions, which scored an additional $50.2 million in its second weekend.
Placing third was Amy Schumer and Bill Hader‘s new comedy Trainwreck, debuting to an impressive $30.2 million.
Rounding out the top five were Inside Out and Jurassic World, earning $11.7 million and $11.4 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, at the specialty box office, Woody Allen‘s An Irrational Man, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Emma Stone, opened to $188,115 from five theaters.
Mr. Holmes, starring Ian McKellen as Sherlock Holmes, debuted to an estimated $2.5 million from 363 locations.
