E.L. Doctorow Dead - 'Ragtime' Author Dies at 84

The legendary author E.L. Doctorow has died at age 84.

The author is most famous for his award-winning novels like “Ragtime” and “Billy Bathgate.” He passed away on Tuesday (July 21) at his home in Manhattan due to complications from lung cancer, his son Richard told The New York Times.

E.L. was known for writing his novels with historical context and using real life people woven into story lines with fictional people.
