“The situation for the displaced inside this country is extremely serious,” Angelina told People.

Brad Pitt Poses for Wedding Instagrams Just Like the Rest of Us

It looks as though Brad Pitt had a full social schedule in England this week. Following a London tête-à-tête with Hollywood’s other most famous Brad, Bradley Cooper, Pitt seems to have made his way to Wiltshire, England to attend the Thursday wedding of Guy Ritchie (who directed Pitt in 2000’s Snatch) and Jacqui Ainsley.

And how do we know this? Because the latter social event has been
carefully chronicled on Instagram with the couple’s wedding tag
#JaxGuyJuly. Judging by the photos, the wedding appears to have been a summery, countryside affair complete with women in pastel gowns wearing flower crowns, and men in linen.

Given Ritchie’s filmmaking career, there were also a number of high-profile guests like David Beckham, Jason Statham, Henry Cavill, and Pitt—the last of whom politely obliged cell-phone wielding guests by posing for their silly Instagrams. After viewing the evidence below, consider how Pitt may have more reason to dread wedding season than the rest of us.

Angelina Jolie Pitt on Humanitarian Trip to Myanmar: ‘The Lack of Medicine and Healthcare Is a Top Priority’

Angelina Jolie Pitt continues to give a voice to the remarkable people of Myanmar while on her humanitarian tour of Southeast Asia.

The actress and United Nations representative
met with Rohingya community representatives in Yangon on Friday, who spoke with her about the difficult conditions of life in Rakhine State. The Rohingya are a Muslim minority group who have suffered of waves of ethnic violence and oppression. In 2012, two outbreaks of conflict left almost 200 dead and about 140,000 displaced, according to the Myanmar Times. Many still remain in camps for internally displaced persons.

“The situation for the displaced inside this country is extremely serious,” Jolie Pitt says in a statement to PEOPLE.

“One man I met expressed his concerns by saying he was afraid that in years to come his community would be found only in history books – and that the lack of medicine and healthcare is a top priority,” she adds. Jolie Pitt, who’s been following the situation since her first visit to Myanmar refugees in Thailand in 2002, is offering to help the government bring medical assistance to people in the Rakhine and Kachin States.

The Unbroken director also met with first-time female voters in Myanmar, during a trip to the “She Leads” program in Yangon. The women showed her how they check online if they and their family members are registered to vote, ahead of crucial elections in November 2015.

“She Leads” works to help women understand the democratic
electoral process, with the goal of ensuring a high turnout in the elections, helping to reduce electoral fraud, and increasing women’s leadership and participation in politics in Myanmar.

Earlier in Jolie Pitt’s visit, she urged authorities in Kachin
State to enable displaced people to cast their votes. As of today, Jolie Pitt tells PEOPLE, some of the population, such as the Rohingya community, will be barred from voting due to their unresolved citizenship.

Angelina Jolie encourages young people & women to check voter lists

Angelina Jolie Pitt visited voter education project and urged women and young people to check voter list ahead of Burma elections.

    Co-Founder of
the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative (PSVI) Ms. Angelina Jolie Pitt met participants in the ‘She Leads’ voter education programme as part of her visit to Rangoon today. She saw first hand the process for checking the voters list online and talked to participants about the importance of the work they are doing to encourage their communities to check their names.

    Ms Jolie Pitt said:
The elections in November are an extremely important moment for this country. Today I met inspiring young women preparing to vote for the first time, who have educated themselves about the process and come together to share that knowledge with others at this critical time. I encourage everyone to follow their example. I urge everyone, women and young people in particular, to check the voter list on behalf of your parents and families. If you can’t get home to check the lists, I learnt today how you can check online at https://checkvoterlist.uecmyanmar.org/

article below today from Washington Post 7-31-15, his photo and a video are within the link. Apparently Zimbabwe asked for his extradition. Also to remind everyone, this jerk of a dentist and his well paid hired killers, deliberately removed a gps collar…do wild animals normally have GPS COLLARS??? Cecil was under observation by animal researchers…they certainly knew Cecil was special when they removed that collar. That is how the officials found Cecil’s body through his collar which was still working. Article below:

Cecil the lion’s killer may have trouble avoiding extradition, experts say

U.S. officials seek alleged lion killer(1:49)

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wants to speak to Walter Palmer, the Minnesota dentist accused of killing Cecil, one of Africa’s most famous lions, on an arranged hunting trip in Zimbabwe. (AP)

Walter Palmer, the wealthy big-game hunter who killed a famous lion, could be headed back to Africa — if the Zimbabwe government has its way.

On Friday, officials in Zimbabwe said they intended to press ahead with a request to extradite Palmer for killing a lion known as Cecil just outside a sanctuary where the animal was protected. Later, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced that it had finally contacted Palmer, a dentist who had shuttered his practice in Minnesota a few days ago and disappeared.

The Fish and Wildlife agency’s law enforcement office said that a representative for Palmer “voluntarily reached out to the service” Thursday afternoon and that its “investigation is ongoing.”

[U.S. officials make contact with a representative for Cecil the lion’s killer]

The investigation could lead to charges that would allow Palmer to be extradited to Zimbabwe under a treaty it entered into with the United States in July 1997. It calls for persons of interest to be extradited between the two countries in cases that include a conspiracy or attempt to commit a crime, aiding and abetting a crime, or being an accessory.

The reaction to Cecil the lion’s killing by an American tourist

View Photos Minnesota dentist Walter James Palmer is accused of killing Zimbabwe’s Cecil the lion.

The extradition process cannot begin until Zimbabwe officially issues a charge and requests Palmer’s return. Oppah Muchinguri, the nation’s minister of the environment and climate, vowed to press charges in a Friday news conference in the capital, Harare.

“I have already consulted with the authorities within the police force who are responsible for arresting the criminal. We have certain processes we have to follow,” Muchinguri said, according to the Associated Press. “. . . The processes have already started.”

[As anger escalates, Zimbabwean men appear in court]

Legal experts said Palmer wouldn’t have a lot of options to fight a return to Zimbabwe to face trial. “Once Zimbabwe provides a charge, it depends on how fast the U.S. moves,” said Stephen Vladeck, an American University law professor who specializes in international affairs.

“Anyone subject to extradition has the right to challenge it, but the grounds upon which he can successfully oppose extradition is fairly narrow,” Vladeck said. “He would have to argue that it violates the treaty or somehow that it violates his rights.”

Zimbabwe is looking for you, Walter Palmer(1:33)

Zimbabwean authorities confirmed Friday that they want to extradite the American dentist who killed Cecil the lion. A U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service official said the State Department is looking into the matter. (AP)

Palmer’s lawyers could cite the poor condition of Zimbabwe’s prisons, a humanitarian concern, as a reason to deny extradition. The prisons were recently described as a “hellhole” in a report by the Zimbabwe Independent, a daily business newspaper, according to its Web site.

“I think it could factor into the State Department’s analysis,” said Jens David Ohlin, an expert in international and criminal law who teaches at Cornell University. U.S. officials “could decide the prison conditions are too harsh and we don’t want our citizens to spend time in jail there.”

The extradition process could take years to play out. If a federal court approves Zimbabwe’s request to extradite him, Palmer could appeal the decision, experts said. If he were to lose on appeal, the State Department would make the final decision.

Ohlin said the State Department would be hard-pressed to turn down a formal extradition request from Zimbabwe. If it did, in a worst-case scenario Zimbabwe could become a sanctuary for criminals who flee crimes committed in the United States.

“If the U.S. doesn’t play ball in this case,” Ohlin said, “in the future if the U.S. wants someone extradited, Zimbabwe can say, ‘We’re not going to help you out.’ ”

Palmer has been harshly criticized in the United States, even by fellow hunters. Safari Club International, which works with foreign governments to arrange legal big-game hunts, suspended his membership.

Among conservation groups, anger has been even more heated. The Humane Society of the United States called for an end to what it called “pay-to-slay” hunts such as Palmer’s.

Zimbabweans believe the July 1 hunt, in which Cecil was lured out of the Hwange National Park sanctuary with fresh meat and shot by Palmer with a bow and arrow, was illegal. Cecil limped, wounded, and was pursued for nearly two days before finally being killed. Then, the lion was beheaded.

Amid the public uproar after he was identified as the killer early this week, Palmer, who paid about $50,000 for the hunt, issued a statement saying that he regretted slaying “a known, local favorite” and that local guides had misled him.

[U.S. wildlife police nab smugglers but fear congressional budget cuts]

When authorities became aware of the slaying, they wanted to detain Palmer along with two guides, professional hunter Theo Bronkhorst and Honest Trymore Ndlovu, the owner of the land where the poaching took place. They were released on $1,000 bail, the Associated Press reported.

“Unfortunately, it was too late to apprehend the foreign poacher as he had already absconded to his country of origin,” Muchinguri said. “We are appealing to the responsible authorities for his extradition to Zimbabwe so that he [can] be made accountable.”

Brad Pitt & David Beckham Steal The Show At Guy Ritchie’s Wedding

Well, that’s one way to steal the bride’s thunder. Brad Pitt and
David Beckham dressed in their finest suits, as they attended good friend Guy Ritchie’s wedding on July 30. Their dapper good looks nearly stole all the attention from beautiful bride Jacqui Ainsley. See the pic!

Guy Ritchie, 44, tied the knot in front of a slew of movie star friends on July 30. But it was Brad Pitt, 50, and David Beckham,40, who grabbed the spotlight in matching cream-colored suits. Their dashing good looks were perfect for the afternoon English garden wedding, where the director wed his longtime girlfriend, model Jacqui Ainsley, 33.

While the actor and his soccer superstar pal made it to the big event, their equally famous wives weren’t in attendance. Angelina Jolie is currently abroad on a charity mission, while Victoria Beckham was spotted out and about in Los Angeles. But that’s okay because it was definitely a bro event with many of Guy’s high-powered male pals in attendance. Action star Jason Statham was in attendance and he brought his lady, model/actress Rosie Huntington Whitely, while the stars of Guy’s latest film, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. — Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer — also attended the big event.

But no one could outshine Brad and David, who both looked crazy cool and handsome in their classy wedding attire. Both wore dark ties, along with white shirts under their matching cream suits. While Brad went clean-shaven, Becks maintained the scruffy beard he’s been sporting for quite some time. The Fight Club star has been pals with Guy since 2000, when he starred in the British director’s film Snatch. David has also been a longtime pal of the talented auteur.

Good lord, everyone, take a deep breath.

Do we even know if the hunters are aware of what hunt organizers do to provide game for their client hunters to shoot, in this case seemingly luring a lion out of its refuge?

I don’t blame this guy for not wanting to go back to face what seems like a lynch mob – he’s already got to face a lynch mob here. If Zimbabwe is looking to make an example of him they might just not be able or willing to provide a fair trial – and no matter how much you love pretty lions, he deserves a fair trial.
