Jon Hamm Says No One Would Cast Him Before 'Mad Men'

Jon Hamm takes the stage at the 2015 Television Critics Association Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday evening (August 8) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 44-year-old Mad Men star was joined at the annual event by The Americans couple Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, The Fosters‘ Sherri Saum and Danny Nucci, director/producer Lee Daniels, and late-night host James Corden.

Jon accepted the award for Individual Achievement in Drama for his role in Mad Men.

“Literally no one wanted to cast me but one person, Matthew Weiner,” Jon said (via Variety). “Those of you who know him know he can be persuasive.”

FYI: Keri is wearing a Zuhair Murad dress.
