New York Jets Quarterback Punched By a Teammate, Will Miss 6-8 Weeks

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith will be out six to ten weeks after being punched in the jaw by teammate Ikemefuna Enemkpali.

As for what caused the linebacker to punch the 24-year-old QB, coach Todd Bowles said in a press conference, “It’s something very childish that sixth-graders could have talked about … If they want to tell you what happened they’ll tell you what happened. I told them I wouldn’t say anything.”

Geno had been competing for the starting job with veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. It is being reported that Geno is currently in surgery after the accident. Ikemefuna has been released from the team in light of the fight.

Geno is signed to Jay Z‘s Roc Nation Sports.

We wish Geno a speedy recovery!

Another NFL player and his ridiculousness. The season hasn’t even started and he does something so unprofessional. I am happy to learn that the organization has a no tolerance rule for bad behaviour. Good that they terminated his contract.

Dude who punched QB needs to be ejected permanently. Of all people, the QB is who you protect the most and is usually team captain. A player who treats their QB so disrespectfully doesn’t deserve the uniform.
