Uggie the Dog Dead - 'The Artist' Star Put to Sleep at Age 13

Uggie the Dog, the adorable Jack Russell Terrier featured in the Oscar-winning movie The Artist, has died at the age of 13.

The dog’s owner Omar Von Mueller made the difficult decision to put him to sleep after a brave battle with a prostate tumor.

“I will forever hold him dearly in my heart and never forget his infinite love for chicken and hotdogs,” Sarah Clifford, the dog’s trainer, told TMZ.

Uggie received several awards for his work in The Artist and he even was immortalized with a hand and footprint ceremony in Hollywood. See lots of photos from his appearances below!

We send out our condolences to all of the people who loved Uggie over the years.
