Tyler Oakley Covers Seventeen Mag's Social Media Issue With Fellow YouTube Star Zoe Sugg
Here’s what the YouTube stars had to share with the mag:
Tyler on his eating disorder: “Talking about it is really hard because it‚Äôs something I suppress and work through every day. And I haven‚Äôt really talked about body image in videos. I assume when people read this, they‚Äôll be like, ‚ÄėOh, you‚Äôre not fat.‚Äô That‚Äôs not what it‚Äôs about at all. Even when I was the skinniest I‚Äôd ever been, I was still not happy.”
Zoe on her struggle with anxiety: “A lot of young people look at me and think, She has the perfect life: She‚Äôs got the boyfriend, the house, the dog, the book, the successful YouTube channel. Not everything is perfect‚Ķ Sometimes I have days where I don‚Äôt want to leave my bed, or I‚Äôll have multiple panic attacks.”
On their friendship:
Zoe: “I instantly felt like we‚Äôd been mates forever, and you never feel like there‚Äôs any distance.”
Tyler: “She accepts people for who they are. She‚Äôs never questioned anything about me. I can just be me.‚ÄĚ
