Joseph Gordon-Levitt Talks About His Creative Process When Smoking Marijuana
Joseph Gordon-Levitt takes part in this feature for Playboy‘s October 2015 issue, on newsstands September 18.
Here’s what the 34-year-old Snowden star had to share with the mag:
On marijuana helping him creatively: “When I smoke weed I’m more liable to make connections I wouldn’t otherwise make. Sometimes those connections are ludicrous. [laughs] But sometimes they’re great. You’re like, Oh sh*t, I might not have thought of that, and it actually makes sense in the morning.”
On his estimated worth of $35 million: “Ha! I certainly don’t have that much money. But sure. Look, the last thing I want to do is deny that I live a privileged life. I do live a privileged life. And I don’t think money is the root of all evil. But I think the love of money is. If you’re making money because you have things you want to accomplish with that money, then money is a tool. If you’re making money because you just want to make more money, then that’s an endless black hole that leads down bad roads.”
On if he’s excited for Ben Affleck‘s Batman: “Um, yeah. I think Ben Affleck’s a great actor. I also think it’s going to be very hard to follow Christian Bale.”
