Laverne Cox Says She Wasn't Snubbed By the Emmys
Laverne Cox looks super fierce in three looks during just one night of pre-Emmys parties on Friday (September 18) in Los Angeles.
The 31-year-old Orange Is the New Black actress attended the Variety and Women in Film celebration, the Television Industry Advocacy Awards benefiting the Creative Coalition, and the Entertainment Weekly party.
Laverne spoke to People at one of the parties and insisted that she was not snubbed of a nomination this year.
“I don’t feel snubbed,” Laverne said. “We got four Emmy nominations. We’re nominated for best drama. Last year we were in the comedy category. I think it’s remarkable!”
“That doesn’t feel like a snub,” she added. “There are so many actors who never get to have this kind of moment on this kind of show. Last year when I came to the Emmys I was nominated, it was my first time, and I couldn’t even really enter my body. It was so insane.”
FYI: Laverne is wearing a blue Gustavo Cadile dress, a Nathalie Trad clutch, Jack Vartanian earrings, a Neil Lane bracelet, and a Leticia Linton ring at the Variety party. She is wearing a yellow Marc Bouwer gown, a Jill Haber clutch, H Stern rings, and a Neil Lane bracelet, earrings, and necklaces at the TV Industry event. She is wearing a black David Koma dress, a Niki English clutch, Lele Sadoughi bangles, Wouters & Hendrix earrings, and rings by Neil Lane, Bavna and Leticia Linton at EW.
