Kate Middleton Visits A Rehabilitation Center To Meet Recovering Inmates
Kate Middleton speaks with a program manager while visiting the Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners Trust at HMP Send on Friday afternoon (September 25) in Woking, England.
The 33-year-old Duchess of Cambridge was at HMP Send, a women’s prison, to hear about the program which helps inmates struggling with addiction.
Kate took a tour of the rehabilitation center and met with staff, trustees and spoke directly with many inmates to hear about the impact of the program on their lives.
“I was reminded today how addictions lie at the heart of so many social issues and how substance misuse can play such a destructive role in vulnerable people’s lives. I saw again today that a failure to intervene early in life to tackle mental health problems and other challenges can have profound consequences for people throughout their lives,” Kate said after the visit in a statement released by Kensington Palace.
