Met Gala 2016 Theme Announced, Taylor Swift to Co-Chair!

The theme for the 2016 Met Gala has officially been announced – Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology!

Taylor Swift and Idris Elba have been revealed as the two celebrity co-chairs alongside Vogue’s Anna Wintour, Apple’s Chief Design Officer Jonathan Ive, and designers Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquiere, and Miuccia Prada.

Next year’s exhibit will take place on Monday, May 2 and “focus on the dichotomy between handmade haute couture and machine-made fashion.”

“Traditionally, the distinction between the haute couture and prêt-à-porter was based on the handmade and the machine-made,” Andrew Bolton, curator of the Costume Institute, told Vogue. “But recently this distinction has become increasingly blurred as both disciplines have embraced the practices and techniques of the other.”

Taylor has attended the Met Gala five times in the past. See all of her looks in the gallery below!

Taylor is such a bad role model. She is so fake, arrogant pig.

  • mandyz

It should’ve been Rihanna wtf? Rihanna has been killing the Met Ball themes consistently, Taylor has never been a standout at the Met. Taylor keeping it up with the self-promotion train. At least Rihanna is returning for VSFS this yr cause if it was another year of Taylor… 😁🔫

  • Jamie

How many people actually follow these themes?

  • mandyz

No not every year. She looked the best the year she went with Ryan and she looked good the year she took Karl as her date since I believe he made a custom silver Chanel dress for her even though her hair was that disgusting orange tone. The other 2 yrs she went besides those moments, her dresses were boring and not amazing. She hasn’t been a consistent standout at the Met, she didn’t even go this yr but I think that was cause of her taking care of her baby.

Can I ask something? What is hte big deal of this MET gala that everyone who is everyone in Hollywood attends?

  • Nat Mirotta

Fred! What is your point! It is obvious that you are an idiot! and the more you comment, the more you look like an idiot! You are punching yourself in the head with your illogical anger! Not Taylor or her fans! Stop the BS

What a disgrace. This is as bad as when Taylor was announced as the ambassador of tourism (or whatever the title is) of New York City.

  • Fred1259

Nashville whore is such an arrogant pig.

  • Gina

I agree. This girl has her hand in every pot & is over-saturating the market. She craves attention and I can’t stand it.

A calculation by Leonardo – and his needle-polishing machine.
Then, at the end of the 16th century, William Lee, an English curate, developed a knitting machine that rattled out 1000 to 1500 stitches a minute, as against the 100 stitches that the fastest knitter could turn out by hand.

The knowledgeable needle – about 1804 Joseph Jacquard invented the loom and punch-card-controlled-looms limited to just two “words”: hole and no hole. The same binary, or two-based, system is all but universal in today’s machine communication.

As Reuleaux saw it, most machines represent a closed kinematic chain – an interlinking of motions — that begins or ends with people. When we drive a car, the hand turns the ignition key, the foot that depresses the accelerator pedal, the eyes that see the red light — all become essential parts of the machine. We — our perceptions — are a vital link of the kinematic chain.
