Legendary Actress Maureen O'Hara Dies at 95

Maureen O’Hara has passed away, according to THR.

The Irish actress was 95 years old.

She died “peacefully surrounded by her loving family as they celebrated her life listening to music from her favorite movie, The Quiet Man,” her family said in a statement.

“Her characters were feisty and fearless, just as she was in real life,” her family continued. “She was also proudly Irish and spent her entire lifetime sharing her heritage and the wonderful culture of the Emerald Isle with the world.”

Maureen was born in Ireland in 1920 and went on to star in dozens of films including Miracle on 34th Street, The Quiet Man, and How Green Was My Valley. She recently received the Honorary Oscar at last year’s Academy Of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’Governors Awards.

We send out our thoughts and condolences to all of Maureen‘s loved ones during this difficult time.
