I wouldn’t doubt that any communication from Katie to Leah was thought out and most likely written by some handler. I thought after getting together with Tom and having to give up her friends and family, that she was constantly surrounded by Scientology handlers. Seeing the letter that was written to Leah from Katie about how Leah did horrible things leading up to and at their wedding, it looks like some professional letter. I don’t think Katie even signed it. Anyone could have typed it up and the whole thing just looks suspicious.

As for Scientology. The funny part about all of this is that they blame everything, their bad reputation and cult-like status, on people who have left (or been kicked out) when in reality, it was Tom’s fateful interview with Matt Lauer that started it all. If he hadn’t called Matt glib and gone on a tirade about how awful psychology is and called Brooke Shields names for seeking help and using medication to treat her postpartum depression, and how he knows all because of scientology, I don’t think the media and gossip blogs and forums would have paid much attention to this so-called church. It may have been known to many people, but that interview thrust it into the biggest spotlight. Then when he started dating Katie and dancing on couches and the stupid silent birth crap, the spotlight just got bigger and bigger.

They’ve caused their own reputation to go down hill and every time they open their mouths to issue some statement, it just keeps snowballing out of control. They are a cult, brainwashing people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. I don’t understand how and why they keep getting away with this. If I were to lie and bilk thousands upon thousands of dollars from someone(s) through fraud and deceit, I’d go to jail and probably have several civil lawsuits brought against me to get the money back. These people do it and what? because they’ve got the word “church” on their buildings, it’s legal?
