Adele's 'Hello' Breaks Records with #1 Billboard Hot 100 Debut

Adele‘s new single “Hello” has broken records on its way to debuting at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week.

The 27-year-old singer notably broke the record for the most U.S. downloads of a song in one week. “Hello” sold 1.11 million copies and it’s the first song to cross the million mark in one week. The previous record holder was Flo Rida‘s song “Right Round” with 636,000 copies.

Adele also broke the record for the On-Demand Songs chart with 20.4 million on-demand streams, breaking the record that Justin Bieber set back in September with 10.1 million streams for “What Do You Mean?”

“Hello” marks the fourth time that Adele has topped the Hot 100 chart after “Rolling in the Deep,” “Someone Like You,” and “Set Fire to the Rain.”
