Soccer Star Karim Benzema Arrested for Possibly Blackmailing Teammate

Karim Benzema, an international soccer star who plays for Real Madrid with Cristiano Ronaldo, was arrested in connection to the possible blackmail of Lyon player Mathieu Valbuena, the BBC reports.

Mathieu is featured in a sex tape and police in Versailles are trying to figure out if Karim, 27, was trying to extort his French teammate (they both play for the national team.) Allegedly, Karim mentioned the sex tape during a team meeting back in October.

Karim was in trouble with the law back in 2009 when he was accused of sleeping with an under-age sex worker. He was cleared of those charges.

Recently, Karim has been linked romantically with Rihanna. The pair were spotted out together several times.
