ABC Cancels 'Wicked City' After Just Three Episodes

ABC officially cancelled their new series Wicked City after airing only three episodes on Friday (November 13), according to Deadline.

The murder drama, which starred Ed Westwick and Erika Christensen, followed a killing spree in Los Angeles in the 1980s.

The series premiere three weeks ago was rated lowest for a Big 4 original telecast this fall and was followed by two weeks of rating drops, including -43% in week three.

Production of series will stop after episode eight, which is currently being filmed, and the network will potentially be airing the remaining episodes in a new time slot.

Well…who didn’t see this coming? You don’t have to be a genius to know it wouldn’t last. From the previews it looked really morbid & not entertaining at all.

This show might have worked on Showtime or HBO. Not a on a network like ABC. To be fair though, I feel networks don’t give shows enough time to develop. I wasn’t a fan of this show. But plenty of shows tend to get cancelled after just a few episodes. They have potential and just need time to develop. But no. If a network doesn’t see immediate success it gets cancelled. It’s a shame.

I guess I’m the only one, but I found the show pretty interesting. I mean, I’ve seen worse shows that are still on the air lol.

Or even on FX. It’s just not a show for a network audience.

I have watched this show since the premier, and it is just plain boring to me. The show is acquired to watch, and just needs to go away.

There are enough real-life horrors happening in the world. Who needed this show, in prime time no less, to highlight two monsters!
