Gal Gadot Shares First 'Wonder Woman' Pic as Filming Begins

Gal Gadot has released the first photo of herself in costume for the upcoming solo Wonder Woman movie, which just began filming.

“Almost 75 years in the making… #WonderWoman is underway,” the 30-year-old Israeli actress captioned the photo on Twitter.

Gal was previously seen playing Wonder Woman in the trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but we won’t get a good look at her as the character until the film is released in March.

It was just announced that more stars have joined the cast of Wonder Woman. Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewan Bremner, Elana Anaya, and Lucy Davis will all be part of the cast.

Wonder Woman will hit theaters on June 23, 2017.

Still think she’s wrong for Wonder Woman. What I’ve seen of her acting is pretty poor and she’s so small. for all her claims of having bulked up, frankly she still looks too small.

SO wrong for Wonder Woman, looks nothing like the Greek Amazonian! After so many years a female hero finally get a comic book character movie & this is what they give us? I’ll wait for marvel..Captain Marvel.

She knows it’s going to bomb right? Almost no one likes her as wonder woman, casting is all wrong. People wanted amazonian goddess, we got anorexic barbie doll.

she’s SO wrong. it’s going to bomb because she can’t act and is all wrong for the role, and Hollywood will use it as an excuse to keep female led superhero movies out of the cinemas

I hope after that movie people will still give Captain Marvel a chance though, Rumors are between emily blunt and Jessica chastain who are both amazing actresses.

Me too. tbh I’d be happy with either Emily or Jessica, though for some reason I lean more towards Emily, though that might be because of Edge of Tomorrow. I know a common fan fave is Katee Sackhoff but I’m kind of tired of her doing the same role over and over and it’d be her being Kara Thrace again. I really want someone else and I’m looking forward to the announcement – when they stop delaying it – as to who is going to be donning the suit.
For me, Wonder Woman will always be someone like Gina Torres. she’s statuesque, has a stronger build (aka doesn’t look like a stiff breeze would knock her down), is gorgeous, is effortless as a badass and a wonderful actor. Gal Gadot wouldn’t even have come into my top 100 to play WW. and likely won’t even after the movie.

It might be Athena orientated, Thor went from red to blonde and variety adds to a characters appeal. Who Huckleberry Finn is to Huckleberry Hound.

See, I’m the inverse of that. I do love both actresses, and Sicario was one of the best things I’ve seen this year, but I really want Jessica Chastain to get it. I’m a big fan of Emily Blunt, don’t get me wrong, but from what I’ve seen in interviews, she doesn’t seem very interested in this role. She’s said it herself that it’s boring how it’s always the same actresses getting these types of action roles: herself, Jennifer Lawrence, and Rebecca Ferguson, and I think she’s right. She’s a great actress, but I think she should skip this role in order to diversify her portfolio and avoid being type-casted.

Besides, I think Jessica Chastain would just do the better job. She’s never had a superhero role so far, but she’s had plenty of roles where she portrayed positions of leadership, all of which were either in a sci-fi and/or military situation, so Carol Danvers seems like the next logical step. She was almost trained for a role like that. Besides, her acting portfolio is incredibly diverse, and she’s won numerous awards and nominations for her work. I think if she got the role of Captain Marvel, she’d turn that film into an instant classic.
