Eagles of Death Metal Recall Harrowing Paris Attacks in Full 'Vice' Interview (Video)
The band Eagles of Death Metal, who were playing at The Bataclan in Paris when gunmen stormed the building and killed innocent concert-goers, are opening up for the first time about the horrific attacks.
The guys – Jesse Hughes, Eddie Galindo, Julian Dorio, and Josh Homme – sat down with Vice magazine.
“At first, I thought it was the PA cracking up,” Eddie said. “And then I realized real quick that it wasn’t, and I recognized what it was…We weren’t sure if they were targeting us or what was going on.”
Julian said, “I immediately knew something was wrong. I bailed off my stool almost immediately…I turned, looked through my drum hardware to the side of an amp, and that’s when the second round started.”
Their sound engineer Shawn London said he made eye contact with one of the shooters. “He stayed there and continued to shoot and shoot and slaughter. And just scream at the top of his lungs, ‘Allah akbar.’ That’s when I instantly knew what was going on.”
