Idris has long been rumored to be in the running to be the next James Bond and it seems he will have to answer questions about the role in many interviews to come.

“I really have nothing constructive to say about James Bond. Apart from, it’s just a rumor,” Idris said in his latest interview with Variety.

They couldn’t find anyone handsome to play the part?

They really should try and get him for the part. His “street” wrinkles could be ironed out. At least try it, couldn’t hurt with a one-film deal. Why not? He’s popular, has diverse film career, fit, healthy, handsome, seems like a good fit.

It’s too late for him and he knows it. James Bond is never a one picture deal unless the actor totally flubs the part. How old is he now and how old would he be by the time film number three roles around? However I think it would be interesting to have him be a James Bond-like spy in the James Bond universe. Then his age wouldn’t have to be such a detrimental factor.

Dunno, if it’s just me, but “have nothing constructive to say” sounds pretty much like he’s got the role or been negotiating.

I like Idris but not for Bond. To me Daniel Craig set the bar pretty high for the new Bond actor. You will have to be able to bring it on a higher level for action, grit and fighting. I don’t see that with Idris. The new Bond has to be way better than Craig was as Bond and that will take someone with heart for the character, not just another acting gig. I wish Craig was young enough to put out 2 more films but I know that’s not happening due to timing between films. Hopefully, we’ll know soon as to who’ll be up for the challenge.

Hes a fantastic and versatile actor, British, handsome, looks great in a tux and suit when cleaned up. His “streetness” that people refer to based on particular popular film and television roles is ACTING. Like any good actor he can be other people too, and has been. I think he’d be an amazing Bond and his casting would see great box office results despite naysayers.
