Adele's 'Hello' Breaks More Records in Fifth Week at #1

Adele‘s smash hit song “Hello” is officially number one for the fifth week in a row on the Billboard Hot 100 and it is still breaking records.

The 27-year-old British singer’s current single is the first song to have a song be streamed 30 million times in a week for five weeks. The last time a song achieved the feat was Baauer‘s “Harlem Shake,” which did so for four weeks back in 2013.

An interesting tidbit is that “Hello” dropped from number one to number two on the Digital Songs chart because of the release of Adele‘s album 25. Fans who bought the song as a single and decided to use iTunes’ “complete” the album option effectively returned the song, causing the net sales for the song to drop this week.

Four other songs from 25 have debuted on the Hot 100: “When We Were Young” at number 22, “Water Under the Bridge” at number 70, “Send My Love (to Your New Lover)” at number 79, and “Remedy” at number 87.
