Jennifer Lawrence Steps Out Ahead of 'Joy' Premiere in NYC

Jennifer Lawrence wears multiple layers despite the unusually warm winter weather on Sunday morning (December 13) in New York City.

The night before, the 25-year-old Oscar winner stepped out for a screening of her new movie Joy for the Directors Guild of America in Midtown.

“I’ve watched Jennifer grow up and handle herself,” director David O. Russell recently told Deadline. “I watch her now saying to the crew, ‘I think we should work French hours,’ which is a very Joy-like thing to do. Every union has to vote on it separately. You don’t have lunch. You don’t stop. What we found difficult was to start and stop and start again. So we said, ‘Let’s just go.’ and we loved it.”

FYI: Jennifer is wearing Oliver Peoples sunglasses. She is also wearing a Michael Kors Collection black coat.

That’s why we have SAG union to avoid these not taking breaks. Because whereas she’s making money and DOR will reap the benefits the cast and crew are the magic elves behind the scenes and they need their breaks.

Labor Unions and Pro-Worker Trade Unionism
    * On the principle of worker internationalism we commit ourselves to work together across national boundaries, across religious, cultural and ethnic divides and equally as women and men.
    * Protect the rights of working people by insuring just wages, reasonable hours of labor, and conditions of work that are conducive to worker’s dignity; they are also to secure just benefits for employees. Organizes for the abolition of child and bonded labor and Unionism is in itself political as its aim is to empower workers.
    * Recognizes the double oppression of women, the increasing proportion of women in the new global workforce and the difficulty that women have in gaining leadership positions in trade unions. It strives to eliminate discrimination, sexual harassment, trafficking of women and other anti-women aspects of society.
    * We commit tirelessly to strengthen trade unions in our own organizations, to seek the broadest possible unity with other unions, working class and people organizations to defend and extend the interests of workers throughout the world and to oppose the anti-worker anti-people policies.
