'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Crushes Monday Record, Crosses $300 Million on Tuesday

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is achieving crazy box office numbers and it broke the record for the biggest Monday gross ever with $40.1 million.

The film reached a total of $288.1 million in four days and by Tuesday afternoon it had crossed the $300 million mark in record time. The previous record holder was Jurassic World, which reached the mark in eight days earlier this year.

At the end of its fifth day of release, The Force Awakens will eclipse the entire domestic run of Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, which grossed $310.7 million back in 2002, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
