Christian Bale Says His 'Big Short' Role 'Exceeds Anything' His Mind Will Ever Comprehend

The 41-year-old actor recently opened up about not feeling smart enough when taking on his role as stock analyst Dr. Michael Burry in his latest film The Big Short.

“He’s a very brilliant individual who does things his own way. He isolates himself and has the best conversations with himself. I had a fascinating time studying a mind that exceeds anything my mind will ever comprehend,” Christian expressed (via StarTribune). “He reads numbers in the way you or I might read a novel. There’s an emotional connection to it.”

“For the film I just learned a couple of lines about it to try to show I’m not dumb,” Christian added. “As soon as I was done with it, I was happy to get that rubbish out the other ear and out of my brain.”
