'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' Crew Member Dies After On-Set Accident

So sad – Ricardo Cornelius, a crew member for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, succumbed to his injuries from a tragic accident on set.

According to Yahoo News, the 34-year-old was injured when a U.S. Army issue Hummer fell on top of him in Cape Town, South Africa.

He was reportedly rushed to a local hospital and placed on life support before passing away on December 3.

“His heart stopped and they were fighting for his life but managed to revive him again. The doctors said his lungs were completely flat and he was bleeding a lot,” his wife, Shafiefa, said. “I spoke to him but the doctors said he didn’t know what was going on around him. We were with him for about an hour, then he died.”

This is the second accident reported on set. Stunt woman Olivia Jackson is set to have her arm amputated after a camera arm didn’t raise in time and her vehicle slammed into it.

Our thoughts are with Ricardo‘s family and friends during this difficult time.

Something is wrong, on this movie shoot: Stunt Woman Olivia Jackson was injured riding a motorcycle–and will have her arm amputated. Safety is of paramount importance on an action movie, and it appears as if someone is NOT doing his or her job to ensure that the stunts are safe.

This is the second accident on this movie shoot. This one ending in death. I’m surprised the movie hasn’t been shut down yet. Someone is clearly not doing their job properly. I get accidents happen, but twice on one movie…not good. I smell a lawsuit coming soon…

That’s horrible! Stunt doubles and crew members are the back bone of Hollywood and still they get no recognition out of their job.
This tragedy really shows you the lack of consideration the movie industry has for them, they should’ve stopped production after the first accident.
