Anderson Cooper shows off his new spray-tanned face while hosting a New Year’s Eve special live in Times Square on Thursday (December 31) in New York City.

The 48-year-old journalist’s co-host Kathy Griffin told him to hold two spoons over his eyes and surprised him by spraying his face with the tanner.

“In case you thought you were too pale,” Kathy said. “Ladies and gentlemen, Anderson Cooper has been spray-tanned. We’re live from Rio! We are live from Rio in the hot sun!”
