Saoirse Ronan Jokes to New York Film Critics Circle: 'I Am One of You!'

Saoirse Ronan arrives at the 2016 New York Film Critics Circle Awards on Monday (January 4) in New York City.

The 21-year-old Brooklyn actress received a Best Actress award for her work in the John Crowley directed film.

Saoirse, who was born in the Bronx and lived there until she was 3, commented to the audience that her award felt extra special coming from the New York based organization.

“I’m one of you!,” she joked. “I am from the Bronx, after all. ‘Saoirse From the Block’ is what they call me.”

Saoirse also appears on the cover of W magazine’s February 2016 issue, on newsstands January 12.

FYI: Saoirse is wearing a Victoria Beckham dress and Sophia Webster platforms.
