Linda Perry Apologizes for Slamming Lady Gaga's Oscar Nom

Linda Perry has taken to her Twitter account to apologize for the previous comments she made about Lady Gaga‘s Oscar nomination.

The songwriter alleged in a series of tweets that Gaga did not actually write the song “Till It Happens to You” and that Diane Warren should have received the sole nomination. She claimed that Gaga was credited as a songwriter just to help it get the nomination and buzz.

“My sincere apologies. I made a mistake to comment. I wasn’t in the room when the #TIHTY was being written,” Linda tweeted. “More importantly, I wish the focus to remain on the great importance of the song and the message of the film.”

Linda was also in contention for a nomination this year for her song “Hands of Love” from the movie Freeheld.

She has spent the last few months campaigning for her song, and then Gaga & Diane Warren get nominated for an oscar. It’s everywhere, everyone is talking about the song. This is obviously an insincere apology, but I feel she has achieved what she wanted. She wanted to spoil it, she didn’t want Gaga to get the credit and now the song is forever tainted. When Gaga speaks about it, people will always think of this. She seems bitter to me, and I get it, she has written beautiful songs and never gets the credit or pay she deserves. But now she just assumes that females artists have no involvement, it’s a horrible assumption to make, an unfair one.

she wasn’t in the room when the song was written? so why she did all this mess ??? Is Linda Perry a little jealous that her song for the movie Freeheld didn’t get any oscar nomination ???

  • Swagsaad

Anyway Glad she cleared it up , but she was so jealous for nothing cuz her song didn’t have a oscar nomination , Most
people would just say something stupid, be called out and then
    pretend like nothing happened.

Linda is a little jealous that her song for the movie didn’t get any oscar nomination ..

Im guessing Gaga payed her to shut her mouth. Oh well, people know the truth that Gaga doesn’t write her songs like she claims.

I actually like “Till it Happens to You” and I am in no way a Lady Gaga fan.

  • nadie234

I think Linda just made herself look like a jealous jerk. I don’t think most people will forever think about this or that it taints the song. All it’s done for me is hope Gaga wins the Oscar now.

Madonna is an old hag… However, Im guessing you’re gagging on Gaga’s clit. I suggest not stanning for a self indulgent liar.

    yep. agreed.

Does not change the facts that some Gaga fans posted on a previous thread. Per Gaga the song was finished when it was presented to her to sing. She just suggested some changes. Which could probably get her a producer credit but not a writing credit.

because musicians have a little more ear and experience to recognize a songwriting styles of each others. it’s like painting brush style etc.

wouldn’t you feel bitter in situation like that? I would.

Little? She disappointed and frustrated. Her song are really good but she has a very little connections with main people in business and never get anything. People give a nomination.

  • Jay

Yes, but the way she went about this. She wasn’t trying to help anyone, it seems like she just wanted to ruin the party.

Songwriters don’t get enough credit or pay, there is a real problem. She has every right to angry but she keeps taking her anger out on female artist, and only female artist. Also artists she has NEVER worked with, that is ridiculous and unfair.

  • OfInLe

Yes, I’m sure (eyeroll). Linda Perry is in SUCH need of money.

If music collaboration is that rigid, we should probably go back and delete credits of Lennon-McCartney writing duo. Who’d u like to delete from Beatle’s classic Oscar nomination–’A Hard Day’s Night?’ John Lennon? or, Paul McCartney? Cause they worked that way. One would form basic song, other give pivotal ideas, new chords, or lyrics, until they felt together, that it was complete.

  • plez

Paul and John were in a group called the Beatles. They had an understanding that regardless of who wrote the song both would get credit. You know why we know this. It’s because, years later, Paul felt it should be known that he was the sole songwriter of specific songs. And adding a little bit of advice should not allow one to put your name on it as songwriter.

“Hey Jude” is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, written by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon–McCartney.” Wikipedia

If Gaga was a stand up person she should have never allowed her name on that song as a songwriter.

  • Gina

    I hate take backs.

  • K.

I’m not going to go back and forth with you because you had to lookup the Beatles on Wikipedia?! Obviously you don’t see my points about ways musical collaborations can work. It’s OVER–Perry said she was wrong. Warren said she DID collaborate with Gaga. (Yeah, that John Lennon, he really stole a lot from McCartney…lol.)

Songwriters paid much. You can write a single hit and live forever with royalties. We don’t talk about penthouses in New York, as Taylor Swift think musical work should be paid.

  • Arx

Its weird that someone has an opinion then completely alters their opinion a few hours later… You don’t like Barack Obama one day then call him the worst president in history the next. Obviously something happened for Linda to change her mind…

are you fat? you sound so fat bye ugly!!!!

lmao all the whores you so worship are fat as shit
