Bryan Cranston Covers 'Malibu' Mag February 2016 (Exclusive)

Bryan Cranston stares intensely into the camera for the February 2016 cover of Malibu magazine, with some images provided exclusively to JustJared.com.

Here’s what the 59-year-old actor had to share with the mag:

On his Trumbo award nominations: “Yeah. I mean, it certainly isn’t why we tell these stories, but knowing how important attention is, and marketing and these sorts of things, when the nominations came in I was flattered and honored. At the same time, it really meant to me that more people will see this movie than before”and that’s great.”

On how he chooses his roles: “I don’t necessarily look for good characters to play; I look for good stories to tell. That’s my distinction. But once I lock on to a good story, if it’s a good story, there’s almost always interesting, compelling characters. That’s part of what makes it a good story. Certainly Trumbo was that, and doing All the Way, my play on Lyndon Johnson, where I’m working with Jay [Roach, the director] again, was that.”

On the untitled, animated Wes Anderson movie he’s working on: “The first recording of that is done. We saw pictures and read a script, and then talked to Wes about how he sees it coming about and being developed. It was great fun. We were in New York. There were four microphones, and Wes was sitting at a little desk inside the recording booth, and there was Bob Balaban and Edward Norton, myself and Bill Murray.”
