Brad Pitt Sports Gray Hair on 'War Machine' Set in Paris

Brad Pitt looks totally different with gray hair while getting into character on set of his new movie War Machine on Sunday (January 31) in Paris, France.

The 52-year-old actor stars as a general, “whose track record lands him the commanding job in the American conflict in Afghanistan,” according to Variety.

Based on Michael Hastings‘ book “The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan,” the film also stars Will Poulter, Topher Grace, and Anthony Michael Hall.

Netflix bought the distribution rights, so it will be in select theaters and simultaneously stream online upon release.

    bringing over from the previous thread I added the PITT lol
    *************************************************************
    Angelina Jolie (Pitt): ‘I’m raising confident children”

    Angelina Jolie (Pitt) says it’s difficult for young people to retain their “innocence” nowadays.

    Angelina Jolie (Pitt) wants her children to feel safe and secure now, so they can deal with anything life throws at them when they’re older.

    The Hollywood actress raises six children with her husband Brad Pitt – Maddox, 14, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, nine, and seven-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox – and does everything she can to show her children how much she loves them. She believes that making children feel protected helps them in later life.

    “It’s much harder for kids to retain their innocence,” she said in an interview with Britain’s OK! magazine. “As a parent, you want to create a safe, happy environment where your children feel loved and secure, it builds their self-confidence and that’s going to help them deal with the problems they’ll face later in life.”

    Angelina and her husband Brad do their best to maintain a normal routine for their kids despite their hectic schedules. They often travel around the world with work, but spend as much time as possible as a family. Angelina would never push her children to follow in her acting footsteps and encourages each one to talk freely and confide in her.

    “I’m very honest with them and I often talk to them about serious issues, so they’re not scared by things they don’t understand,” she added. “I want them to be able to explore their own imaginations. Brad and I want them to grow up ready to deal with the real world and know that we’ll always be there to support them.”

    Angelina went on to recall the conflicting feelings she experienced in the year after her twins were born and she had acting commitments to fulfil. She says having Brad around to support her and help out made a huge difference to their family at the time.

    advertisement

    “The first year was the toughest because I wasn’t able to spend as much time with our children as I had before,” she noted. “But Brad was great about looking after them and making sure mummy would get enough sleep and that everything was OK in the house. It was beautiful to watch him being so caring and generous, even though I could see how exhausted he was at times.”

    I don’t know. I am wondering what is attractive to the folks at Plan B about this.

    Brad may want to discuss this further with his adoptive “son.”

    +++++++++++++++++++

    I think the media is just speculating that Hunnam is going to act in it. When Dudline broke the story they phrased it as “a potential star vehicle for Hunnam.” Hunnam’s never really made a secret of wanting to follow the trajectory of Brad’s career and get into producing, so maybe with all the diversity issues over the Oscars Plan B will ask him to step aside as the lead actor. There’s plenty of Latino actors who could play the role. Then I can see it degrading into “He’s Puerto Rican not Mexican!” LOL! They’ll never be able to please everyone. The sticking point of course is that the guy doesn’t “look Mexican.” People forget that not all Mexicans are of Indian descent…or do you still save “Native American” when it’s indigenous peole of Mexico since Mexico is part of North America? Whatever…you know what I mean…

    Actresses aren’t allowed to direct,write or produce for themselves w/o the risk of being labeled “self indulgent” or “vain” #doublestandards…..
    John Krasinski’s ‘The Hollars’ has been acquired at #Sundance:

    +++++++++++++++++

    Well, let’s get real here – the sticking point for critics has been that BTS was a studio movie. Krasinki’s movie is an indie which means it had to shop itself to find a distributor. Those asshats hate the fact that Angie had enough star power that EVERY STUDIO BID ON BTS because of who she is and because she’s got BO clout. Krasinski is just another TV person who wants to be a movie star. Next.

    Natalie Portman seems to be getting some of the treatment from critics Angie received. Of course the critics aren’t as critical of Natalie, but they are certainly not supporting her in any way.

    ++++++++++++++++++

    They’re not as critical becaus – a) she’s not Angie; and b) she didn’t write and direct JGAG. If she’d written, directed and starred in it – they’d be shitting on her plenty because she’s got an Oscar and hasn’t done anything notable since then…or before it if you ask me…

    She could have taken a handful of years off until they were nearing school age. Don’t tell me that the only way to have “artistic outlet” is to abandon them by constantly flying all over the globe in service to a punishing schedule. She could cut back on how many movies she makes a year (like Jennifer garner) partner up with someone and help produce projects close to her heart, consult and create with a summer theater group in Nashville (where she is always claiming she lives), find good movie projects and get financial backing; etc etc. An actress of her stature could ALWAYS go back to roles after the girls are older. Constantly abandoning them and either coming home jet lagged only to make preparations to jet back out only sets up her status as a visitor. She has tons of money and isn’t forced to be gone all the time. She CHOOSES to. She’s teaching the girls with every prolonged absence: there’s something more interesting to me “out there” than YOU.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++

    http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/31/asia/myanmar-aung-san-suu-kyi-nld/

    (CNN)It’s a day Aung San Suu Kyi and her supporters have been waiting for for more than two decades.

    The Nobel peace laureate and leader of the National League for Democracy (NLD) will finally take her seat at the head of Myanmar’s government when the new parliament sits on Monday.

    It comes 26 years after Suu Kyi won a substantial parliamentary majority in the parliamentary elections in 1990 — a result that was subsequently nullified — and two months after the NLD’s landslide victory in the 2015 vote.

    On Friday, outgoing President Thein Sein pledged that members of the old government would “cooperate with the next government to bring peace and development to the country,” according to a statement on the president’s website.

    “Whatever has been done during the past five years is aimed at the restoration of peace and tranquility,” the former military commander said.

    Long fight for democracy

    Suu Kyi spent much of the time between each of her election victories as a guarded prisoner in her own home in Yangon. While under house arrest, she became an international face of the fight for democracy, with U.N. Secretary Ban Ki Moon in 2012 calling her a “global symbol” of progress.

    Suu Kyi’s release came after the election of President Thein Sein in March 2011.

    Soon after taking power, Thein Sein set about opening the previously reclusive country to the international community.

    His government freed hundreds of prisoners, including Suu Kyi, relaxed media censorship and started a peace process with warring ethnic militia, who have been fighting the central government for six decades.

    As a result, sanctions were lifted, opening the country to international trade deals — and scrutiny.

    Despite leading the party that won the vote, Suu Kyi can not be president.

    The country’s constitution — which the military is thought to have drafted with her in mind — bars anyone with children who are citizens of another country from becoming president. Both of Suu Kyi’s adult sons are British citizens.

    Suu Kyi said before the vote that if the NLD won she would be “above the president.”

    It’s yet to be seen who the party nominates for the presidential post.

    While the NLD has an absolute majority in both houses of the parliament, the military holds 25% of the seats, limiting the power of the ruling party to make changes to the constitution.

    What changes lie ahead?

    Supporters hope that within the constraints imposed by the legacy of military rule, Suu Kyi’s NLD will succeed in improving human rights in a country that has long stifled personal freedoms.

    Some reservations exist, however, about Suu Kyi’s position on the persecuted minority Rohingya population. Myanmar refuses to recognize them as Burmese citizens and is severely restricting their access to work, travel, healthcare and education. Many have fled on unseaworthy boats run by human traffickers. Others are languishing in impoverished camps in Myanmar.

    The world is watching

    In its most recent World Report, Human Rights Watch said that Myanmar’s elections were a high point in a year that saw overall human rights in the country stagnate.

    Burmese people and the international community have high expectations that Suu Kyi’s government will reverse rights abuses and unjust laws, Phil Robertson, HRW’s deputy Asia director said.

    “The new government should urgently release political prisoners, revoke abusive laws, and end discrimination against Muslims and other minorities, or it will soon be facing crises of its own making,” he said.

    In November, U.S. President Barack Obama congratulated Suu Kyi on the NLD’s electoral success, noting that formation of a new government “could be an important step forward in the nation’s democratic transition,” the White House said.

    U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry described the 2015 elections as “an important step forward” but also cautioned that what happens next is key to Myanmar’s future.
