New 'Harry Potter' Book 'Cursed Child' Coming This Summer!

A new Harry Potter book, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I & II,” will be available in stores beginning July 31, 2016!

The book is actually an early script of the stage play by the same title, which was conceived by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany. Jack wrote the play, which is set to debut in London this summer. The book release and the play’s debut will coincide.

The play picks up 19 years after the epilogue from “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Harry is now an overworked Ministry of Magic employee, while his son Albus struggles with his family legacy.

“As the U.S. print publisher, Scholastic introduced Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World to American readers nearly 20 years ago and experienced firsthand the anticipation and excitement of the publication of each of the books over the years. We are thrilled to publish Harry Potter and the Cursed Child this summer,” Ellie Berger, president of Scholastic Trade, said in a statement.
