Selena Gomez Responds To Taylor Swift Lyric From Kanye West

Selena Gomez is the newest member of Taylor Swift‘s squad to open up about the “Famous” lyric controvery.

The 23-year-old singer spoke with SiriusXM over the weekend about the words Kanye West raps in his song Taylor, 26.

“She’s killing it and she kind of always has been,” Selena shared during the broadcast, adding, “Everybody has their own opinion. At the end of the day, you can just do what you do.”

Despite Kanye‘s insistence that Taylor gave approval to the lyric in question, a rep for the singer has said that she “cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.”

I’m not defending Kanye West… but it’s not the first rap song that calls a woman a bitch or something worse…

People are just outraged because he insulted America sweetheart Taylor Swift… imo

i think it’s more that he said her name, specifically. and that he’s married to someone we all know. most of the lyrics against women are just generic and apply to all women w/no ‘real’ names. some exceptions of course, but not the norm
