Sacha Baron Cohen On Oscar Controversy: 'I Think There Is An Inherent Prejudice In The Film Industry'
Sacha Baron Cohen flashes a smile while hitting the red carpet at the fan screening of his new film The Brothers Grimsby held at Pathé Arena on Thursday (February 18) in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Over the weekend, the 44-year-old actor attended the 2016 BAFTAs with his wife Isla Fisher and opened up about his thoughts on the on-going 2016 Oscars diversity issue, where he is set to serve as a presenter.
“I think there is an inherent prejudice in the film industry,” Sacha expressed (via The Guardian) “The actual makeup of the films, the production staff, the directors and the actors are generally white and there needs to be greater diversity here and in America. I don’t think it’s that the members of the Academy are actually racist, I just don’t think they are presented with enough films that are diverse.”
