'Deadpool' Easily Keeps No. 1 Box Office Spot With $55 Million

Ryan Reynold‘s R-rated superhero flick Deadpool easily won this weekend’s box office race with an additional $55 million gross!

According to THR, the Marvel movie passed the $200 million mark in North America with a domestic gross so far of $235.4 million.

Globally, the film has earned a massive $491.9 million, making it the top-R rated title in history.

Staying at No. 2 was the animated movie Kung Fu Panda 3, which earned an additional $12.5 million for a domestic total of $117.1 million.

Taking the third spot was the new religious movie Risen, starring Joseph Fiennes and Tom Felton, which debut to $11.7 million.

Rounding out the top five were The Witch and How to Be Single, which grossed $8.7 million and $8.2 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Jesse Owens biopic, Race, opened to $7.3 million from 2,369 locations.
