Lady Gaga Tells Sony to Free Dr. Luke to Then Free Kesha

Lady Gaga is continuing to stick up for her friend Kesha amid her legal battle with Sony and Dr. Luke.

The 29-year-old singer posted a video on her Instagram account that showed Kesha‘s fans protesting in New York City and chanting “people over profit.”

“We are all protesting to free Kesha. We are right outside of Sony’s building, let’s go, let’s do it! They have the power to, even though they’re saying that they don’t. They are Dr. Luke‘s boss. They can terminate their relationship with Dr. Luke and therefore terminate the contract,” a fan explains in the video.

“#PeopleOverProfit you can #FreeKesha if you #FreeDrLuke Do what is RIGHT not what is better for business 🙏,” Gaga captioned the clip.

    Gaga, stop using other artists.
Where you were 2 years ago when Kesha sued such abuse?
Almost 2 years without saying anything, and now, mentioning Kesha every minute.
You defends Kesha, but worked with Terry and R.Kelly, both sued for sexual abuse. LOL

I’m not sure strictly speaking if this is actually true, and that Sony might be telling the truth in that they can’t actually release Kesha. Yes they are Dr. Luke’s boss, kind of, but I imagine Dr. Luke has his own deal/contract with them that gives him some level of autonomy. At least for now, the allegations legally speaking haven’t been proven thus Sony can’t act because if they tried to fire him or cut ties, he would likely just sue Sony for breach of his own contract or “wrongful” termination. Sony could probably buy him out or something but I imagine they don’t want to spend that kind of money, as it would probably cost them a lot. Also, since Dr. Luke owns his own company under the Sony umbrella, he could also probably not sell or be bought out if he didn’t want to.

I doubt people fully understand what you are trying to say however the company I work for is an umbrella company. It is very difficult to get things changed and the structure makes it very difficult to get things done. Sony will get the bad rap for this and social media has already spoken.

But she don’t know is Kesha a rape victim or a liar.
When all comes up Gaga will be “oops, I made a terrible mistake”. And write a song about it.

  • Mapгapитa Бaбoвниковa

Sony will get the bad rap for this only because people is the mob and the mob is always stupid.

  • Mike Postioni

Regardless whatever Gaga said, the key issue here is that Sony is hiring the accused sexual predator. Sony is indirectly paying criminals to commit crimes. Gaga probably did not realize what she did years ago, but those who said Gaga was hypocritical, forgot that rape and sexual assault victims are the ones who suffer the most. Stop the blame game and focus on helping the victims. Stop Sony from doing the wrong thing. Period.

  • Shara Frederick

You first used an important word: “ACCUSED”. Then you go on and call him a criminal. Is he not entitled to innocent until proven guilty or is that just for popular people?

  • Gina

Gaga is using this to push for that Oscar win for her song about rape.

“Stop the blame game and focus on helping the victims”

    Alleged victims.
