Sylvester Stallone Posts Heartwarming Response to Oscar Loss

Sylvester Stallone runs some errands on Monday (March 1) in Bel-Air, Calif.

The 69-year-old Creed actor was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2016 Oscars earlier in the week, but the award went to Mark Rylance for his role in Bridge of Spies.

Sylvester posted an encouraging note on Instagram following the ceremony that showcased his positive attitude despite the loss.

“To all the ‘real Rocky’s’ of the world, Please hang on to your dreams, NEVER GIVE IN , NEVER GIVE OUT , NEVER GIVE UP! thanks for the support,” he wrote.

The joke is that a horrible actor like him thought he actually had a chance at winning the Oscar.

Sly Stallone is legendary … iconic and a bad a$$ still making movies that people actually go and watch! I’m a huge fan of this man who deserved the nod of an Oscar nomination, cant say much about the person who won in the catergory.

He should have shown true grace and congratulated the winner

Oh please. Your behavior was atrocious and not sportmans like whatsoever. Using your own brother as a proxy was low. You’re not an actor Sly, you’re a character of yourself. You couldn’t act a Shakespearean piece much less an Edwardian era role if your life depended on it.

Now go back to glorifying pointless violence, promoting fascism and stop trying to convince us all you can act.

i think the academy was mean, for lack of a better word. the other agencies all gave him the awards and then he doesn’t get the major one after a huge amount of build-up. i had never even heard of the winner and doubt we’ll hear from him again. you shouldn’t win an award just for being a legendary actor, but they shouldn’t have made him think he had a chance by giving him every single award leading up to the oscar.. that’s weird

  • kelly

    Mark Rylance deserved it.

  • Charlie

He was on screen for all of 35 mins of the 2 hr movie

  • VanityInsecurity

please Tom Hardy deserved that Oscar.

  • kelly

Since when does time duration determine quality of performance? Michael Shannon had 10 minutes of screen time in Revolutionary Road and he was the best part of that movie.

  • Gameoverbaby

As much as I wanted Stallone to win I can almost guarantee you that you will hear about Mark Rylance again. The guy is an enormously talented and award-winning stage, tv and film actor. He is incredibly well-known within acting circles – that’s what got him the Oscar. He has another Spielberg movie coming up, as well as one with Christopher Nolan. Actors and directors are clambering to work with him. I truly think Rylance will be nominated for another Oscar in his lifetime. But, more importantly, I want Stallone to be nominated again (and win this time!).

  • Gameoverbaby

Wow. Aren’t you a nasty piece of work.

  • DEADP00L

I am not the one who thinks they are entitled to something they haven’t earned. Let him actually act for once and we can go from there.

  • Gameoverbaby

So did he personally get in touch with you and tell you that he thinks he was entitled to the award? Even though he never once said that throughout the whole of the awards season? Good to know.

  • DEADP00L

Riiight because you didn’t see the hissy fit made and the lack of congratulating the winner of category? Yeah that’s how an entitled git behaves like.

  • Gameoverbaby

Hissy fit? Where did Stallone have a hissy fit? Please, do tell. The only thing Sylvester Stallone has done has been gracious in defeat and write a congratulatory note to Mark Rylance on social media. It was his brother that was out of line (who has since apologised for his behaviour).

  • DEADP00L

That hissy fit right in front of the cameras and lacking any acknowledgment much less congratulating Mark. He only apologized because he pissed off a sh1tload of people and Sly didn’t apologize he excused that childish behavior. Sly is a mediocre personality with ZERO acting ability, all he does is play himself in every single movie. That’s why you wont find him in a period piece much less a drama or on stage – he’s not an actor.

  • Gameoverbaby

“That hissy fit right in front of the cameras and lacking any acknowledgment much less congratulating Mark” – again, exactly when did this hissy fit take place? Genuine question here. Sly did congratulate Rylance so I guess you missed that part. I think you are confusing Frank’s behaviour for Sly’s? You are blaming Frank’s silly and rude outbursts on his brother? Frank tweeted something stupid but apparently Sly is the ungrateful one?OK, then. You’re upset because Sly asked people to forgive his brother’s behaviour, even though he was no doubt embarrassed by it? OK, then.

“Sly is a mediocre personality with ZERO acting ability, all he does is play himself in every single movie” – I think we will just have to agree to disagree on that one.
“That’s why you wont find him in a period piece much less a drama or on stage – he’s not an actor”. You’re right about one thing – Stallone would not suit a period piece – his physical limitations (slurry voice due to paralysis, bulky frame) would not suit it. He has done drama (though not enough). Many actors do not perform on stage. They stick to movies and television. When’s the last time you saw Tom Cruise or George Clooney on Broadway? Doesn’t make them any less an actor.

Continue to apologize for his gross behavior it only proves how little taste his ‘fans’ have in decorum.

  • Gameoverbaby

OK, I’m ignoring the obvious trolling going on here and I’m seriously asking this now: do you not realise it was Frank Stallone that was out of order, not Sylvester? Do you not realise that Sylvester was very praising of Mark Rylance and his win? I think we will just have to end things here now. It was interesting having this chat with you.
