Lena Dunham Has Been Hospitalized & Will Undergo Surgery

Lena Dunham was hospitalized due to a ruptured ovarian cyst on Saturday (March 5).

The 29-year-old Girls actress took to Facebook early in February to announce she wouldn’t be doing much press for the show’s upcoming season because she was going through a “rough patch” with her illness.

“Lena has been very public with her personal bouts with endometriosis. This morning, she suffered from an ovarian cyst rupture and has been taken to the hospital,” Lena’s rep confirmed to JustJared.com. “Lena will be undergoing surgery at an undisclosed hospital. We thank you for your understanding and hope that Lena’s privacy will be respected.”
