Kesha Gives Emotional Speech at HRC's Equality Dinner: 'Don't Be Afraid' to Speak Against Injustice
Kesha takes the stage at the 2016 HRC Nashville Equality Dinner held at the Renaissance Hotel on Saturday (March 5) in Nashville, Tenn.
The 29-year-old entertainer received the Visibility Award that evening, which came after her devastating legal battle with Dr. Luke to be freed of her Sony contract. Congratulations on the honor, Kesha!
“As many of you know I am going through some personal things that have been really intense and hard lately and I just want to say thank you for the support I have received,” Kesha said (via USA Today). She reportedly started to get choked up during her speech, before continuing, “My message today is don’t be afraid to speak up against any injustice you experience. Don’t let people scare or shame you into changing the things about you that make you unique.”
