Naomi Watts Says She Has Room to Improve as an Actress
Here is what the 47-year-old Allegiant actress had to share with the mag:
On growing as an actress: “This isn’t the life I imagined. In many ways, it’s far, far better, and yet I look at what’s possible—I mean, look at Frances McDormand or Helen Mirren or, come on, Meryl Streep—and I go, ‘okay, there’s still a lot of room to grow and improve.’”
On relationships: “Relationships are hard whether you’re famous or not. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have to work on it. Being an actor doesn’t change anything. I’m sure it’s the same if you’re a doctor or a couple of lawyers. You have high-pressure jobs, lots of hours, stresses that come at you unexpectedly—and you have to figure out how to be present in the midst of it all.”
On her character, Evelyn, in the upcoming movie Allegiant: “It’s something of a stretch but in terms of character, Evelyn is someone I can appreciate, she is a survivor and she’s made the most of her experience despite a bunch of twists and setbacks.
