Jake Gyllenhaal and Jimmy Fallon spit food in each other’s faces during a bit for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday evening (March 21) in New York City.

“I’ve had some pretty intense roles, but this was the most intense,” Jake joked about the sketch, titled “Point Pleasant Police Department.” “It’s really in-your-face.”

During his interview with Jimmy, Jake spoke about some of his failed auditions, including one for Lord of the Rings.

“I auditioned for a lot of classics I’m not in!” Jake said. “[Peter Jackson told me] ‘You are the worst actor I have ever seen.’”
