Disney & Marvel Plan to Boycott Georgia If Anti-Gay Discrimination Bill Is Passed
Gov. Nathan Deal has the option to sign a bill right now that would allow religious leaders to deny performing same-sex marriages. If the bill passed, faith-based organizations would also be able to deny services and employment opportunities to those who “violate” any religious views.
“Disney and Marvel are inclusive companies, and although we have had great experiences filming in Georgia, we will plan to take our business elsewhere should any legislation allowing discriminatory practices be signed into state law,” a statement from the companies read (via Variety).
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is currently filming outside of Atlanta, and Captain America: Civil War filmed in Georgia last year as well.
